Different experiences, desires, and the way in which one perceives the world is what brings a designer to experiment, create and express his ideas. Ideas which create a concept or object that identifies with each of us.
Maria del Pilar first began her passion for art and design during her high school years, she had the opportunity to take the IGCSE in Art and Design of Cambrige University and the IB Program in Visual Arts.
Those preliminary encounters with the design world developed a great interest in the study of spaces and objects. In order to pursue her interests she moved to Madrid in 2009 and started a career in Industrial Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design.
During her studies at IED she was finalist in a project for Jockey Brand and some garden pieces design for Leroy Merlin were taken into production. During her final year she was selected to be part of the IED stand at Salone Satelite Milan’s fair. Also in Ecuador she had the opportunity to design a piece for La Galeria del Mueble, and Ecuadorian Enterprise dedicated to furniture manifacturing.
Nowadays she is finishing her master in Furniture Design at ELISAVA school.
